T. Joe Byrd, CPCU (Certified Property Casualty Underwriter) has over 45 years of experience in the insurance business. Insurance Bid Works was founded using this experience.

The primary goal of Insurance Bid Works is to assist the insurance buyer in finding the best combination of cost and coverage, using the same proven insurance management techniques and bid processes Mr. Byrd developed and utilized over his successful career as an insurance consultant and expert.

His experience includes:
• 19 years in underwriting with major insurance companies.
• 13 years as an underwriting manager for a major insurance company.
• 7 years as Vice President of an Excess and Surplus Lines business placing unique underwriting risks with Lloyds of London.
• Mr. Byrd received a B. A. degree from Georgia State University in 1977 with a major in Insurance Risk Management.
• He received the CPCU designation in 1978, which is the highest designation awarded in the insurance industry.
• Mr. Byrd started his own Risk Management Firm in 1985, specializing in the Insurance Bid Process for insurance buyers.
• He sold that consulting business in 2001 and has spent the last four years developing an electronic and automated bid process designed for the smaller insurance buyer who cannot afford conventional consulting services.
